Nemonie Roderick interviews Andrew Eaton, Winterbottom’s producer and co-founder of Revolution Films.

In a recent Sight and Sound interview, Richard Jobson, director of 16 Years of Alcohol lamented the “can’t do” culture he has perceived amongst some British filmmakers: “they’re like bloody farmers, dependent on subsidies,” he snarls. Jobson’s budget for 16 Years was 420,000. It was shot on high-definition digital, which in no way affected his clear aesthetic.
